Reservation Terms & Conditions

Reservation Policy
All rates are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) on a per night basis and include GST of 15%. All account must be settled directly with Podium Lodge in NZD.

Credit Card details are required to confirm and a secure booking. If this is your preferred method of payment your credit cards will be charged when you check in at Podium Lodge.

If the booking is to be paid with cash, a credit card will still be required to hold against the booking.
We accept Visa and Mastercard, Eftpos and cash.

Group Bookings
Group bookings exceeding 10 persons will require a 50% non-refundable deposit within 10 days of the booking to secure and confirm the reservation. This can be done through bank deposit or Credit Card.

Special conditions apply to Group quotations and reservations.

Numbers can be reduced; however, cancellations and changes must be made 30 days
prior to arrival.  Changes and reductions of numbers after 30 days will be subject to charges. If there is a no show with no or little warning the full value of the reservation as per the quotation may be charged.

Balance of payment must be made one week prior to checking in. Podium Lodge reserves the right to confirm current room rates 3 months prior to the booking date.

Age: You must be 18 years of age All reservations, bookings and enquiries can be made via email ( For instant confirmation please reserve via our website or alternatively call us. Reservations via the phone will require full customer and credit card details. Reservations made online are processed through a PCI certified third party, all credit card details are held by an externally hosted page, ensuring the security and integrity of your card details. Proof of ID
will be required and presentation of the Credit Card given over the phone or through the online booking system at the time of booking will need to be witnessed upon arrival.

Cancellation / Refund Policy
Cancellation: with less than 48 hours’ notice (2pm 2 days prior to scheduled check in) may result in the total amount for the booked accommodation being charged.  Failure to arrive on the specified day may result in the total amount for the booked accommodation being charged and cancellation of
the remainder of the booking. Special conditions apply to Group quotations/reservations.

Quiet Time 10.00pm - 7.00am
We respect the quiet tranquil nature of our country surroundings.We ask that our guests remain quiet from 10.00pm – 7.00am.

Arrival and Departure times
Upon arrival, each guest will be required to sign a standard Podium Lodge registration form and accept the terms and conditions of their stay. For group bookings, the tour manager/group manager will sign on behalf of the accompanying party members. Late check out: Subject to Podium

Lodge’s occupancy status on the day of departure, late checkouts may be available, please check with reception should you require this facility. If late check out is not prearranged a late check out fee will be incurred, at $20 per hour for every hour after 10am. Late check in: All Guests are required to check in by 8.30pm. If you are unable to check in by 8.30pm, please phone us on (07) 9741710 to arrange key collection.

Reception Hours
8.00 am – 7.00 pm

In the event of someone having smoked in or around a room, we will engage a specialist cleaning company and reserve the right to on charge the costs and any resulting loss of income to the registered guest.

Room Condition
If your room is left in an unsatisfactory state, this includes excessive rubbish, misuse of Podium
Lodge property, any unhygienic uncleanliness, excessive mess or odour in the kitchen, which causes unwarranted cleaning time by Podium Lodge staff. All applicable cleaning charges
will be debited for the registered guest’s credit card.

Damage to Motel Property
Damage to Podium Lodge property should be reported immediately. Assessments are done upon full cleans after check outs and non-reported damage will be automatically charged at market rates for any repairs or replacements.

Loss of Motel Property
Includes but is not limited to room keys. The registered guest will be liable for all charges incurred in the replacement/ repairs of any items that belong with the Podium Lodge.

Replacement keys for lost or non returned keys will be charged to the guest at $15 per key and key card.

Visitors are permitted at management’s discretion. The registered guest is responsible for the behaviour of all persons/ visitors whilst on the property. All deliberate or reckless acts that result in damage to our property, that require specialist cleaning or repair will be charged to
the registered guest.

Overdue Accounts
All accounts are payable upon arrival. We reserve the right to charge overdue/ recovery fees on all accounts not paid by the due date.

Covid 19 Policy

As you can imagine the last 20 months have been an incredibly challenging period for all of us but particularly for the tourism sector including Podium Lodge. As we approach what we hope is going to be a robust summer, rest assured, we are committed to providing a safe, clean, and enjoyable Podium Lodge experience for you to enjoy with family and friends.

To ensure safe operations over the peak season, the team at Podium Lodge are 100% committed to maintaining the highest standards of service, hygiene and protection as required by the NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework. Podium Lodge has carried out an on-site risk assessment on all communal areas and reception. We also identified the need to ensure unvaccinated children are protected as much as possible during their stay. To ensure we are able to actively manage high risk areas and for the safety of our staff, guests and contractors, Podium Lodge has introduced a "no vaccination = no stay" policy. This will include all visitors, staff, and contractors 12 years and above. This new policy came into effect 12th of December 2021.

We expect the following approach to be adopted: Verification of vaccination will be required for all guests 12 years and above via the NZ pass verifier app. Staff will meet you at reception and then come to your vehicle on arrival and verify each guest before check in. Once verified then the primary guest will be invited to complete check-in at reception. Our staff will endeavour to have all check in documentation completed on arrival to ensure a smooth and timely check-in process.

If you are unable to receive a vaccination for medical reasons, you will be required to show proof of your government approved exemption and a negative Covid test result within 72 hours of arrival.

Please note if you are unable to provide a vaccine certificate or legitimate exemption document, please contact us and we will process a full refund of your deposit/payment


Please read all details of the new Podium Lodge Covid-19 Vaccination Policy document as this forms part of the standard Terms & Conditions for your current booking.

We acknowledge that not everyone wishes to be vaccinated against Covid-19. If you are not vaccinated and you have a booking with us, you will be entitled for a full cancellation refund.Cancellations will be accepted via email only. Please email your cancellation request to by the 20th of December 2021 or at least 14 days prior to arrival. If we do not receive your email request within this time period, then your standard cancellation terms and conditions will apply to your booking.


Of course, we want you to come and relax together with friends and family! We all have to live by the new rules. If you are the reservation holder of your group, we kindly ask that you please act now to ensure everyone in your group understands the new rules and we can ensure a smooth check-in and a safe relaxing holiday:

Share the information with friends or family who will be travelling as part of your booking.

Understand that the new Covid-19 Vaccination and Certification requirements will apply to all those who intend to travel with you as part of your booking so please share this information with them as soon as possible. Sorry, we will not be able to make exceptions to the rules at the time of check-in. Exemptions will only be accepted for those travelling with proof of a legitimate medical exemption.

Equally, we kindly ask you to understand the challenges our business is facing as we have to constantly adapt to the Government’s requirements for business and the reality of creating a safe environment for all visiting or working in our park over the busy summer period. Please be aware that your understanding, patience, and support is appreciated.
